Adding crown molding, too, but have to paint it as it is free and already primed. Looking for a color idea on that. Match the walls? Accent color to wall? Base is stained.

Wow! This is your master bedroom? I LOVE it! It's amazingly huge and open! You can easily have a yoga studio of your own. Perhaps a sitting/reading area by the bay windows or even fireplace.

Before deciding on paints, do you have any other functions you are seeking in your master besides sleeping and yoga? You have so much potential here!

Thank you. it is a beautiful space. The walls are already painted the 3am latte color, but need crown molding color ideas. As far as what else for the space, not sure. The house is huge and are children are off to college. Not ready to downsize as we know they will come home often.

Light off-white crown to match the ceiling and I would add taller, more substantial baseboards and paint them white also.

Since you have such a large space, why not start by using that huge beam to divide it in two? Use a shoji-style installation like #1 or a headboard divider as in #2. Place the bed on the fireplace side and the yoga space on the window/library nook side. I'd want a more asian-style platform bed as seen here. Top down/bottom up shades would be nice and I think bamboo flooring would be key to the asian vibe you want.

I would paint all trim incl doors white. To update look. Add 4-5" moulding, to ceiling. Get a king size bed on a platform you don't need a box spring. Go very high headboard, in a fabric, a micro swede. If walls are latte go chocolate, headboard. Add very full satin panels to cover entire windows. A shiny brown with gray under tones. Pearl like. White wash brick. Use brick is dated. Google white wash. Easy to do. Yes TV there would work, don't hang to high. At foot of bed place 2 low back chairs, in a cream. Place small table between. ON wall where chairs are now add a low media center in dark wood. In it add a CD player, for your yoga music. Add a nice bamboo mat to floor. On wall over media hang a low and long 4 ft picture of a tranquil feel a waterfall, river etc. on back wall hang a water feature in cooper on wall make it tall and hang low. On walls in this area. hang grass cloth in gold tones wallpaper. This will be your zen yoga space. On all windows hang matching panels and cover. I would change flooring to wood. Not too dark. Then in front of chairs and firepl. Add 8 x10 area rug. Go a soft shag, in shades of cream, brown and tan. In window in back. In front of window a chaise, in a cream print with brown. Add dark brown pillows in satin. Next to it a ceramic garden stool in teal. Pier one carries. For bedding. Cream with brown and teal design. Shams and add teal pillows in prints and solid. Don't get a comforter, but get a duvet and don't put comforter inside. Because of platform bed needs to be tucked under mattresses. Night stands go very big chest type 4ft long in dark wood and brush nickel pulls. Lamps very tall 2 ft with big drum style shades in cream. Base in teal. On wall you have all the pic on floor lean a tall 6 ft floor mirror in a wide dark wood mirror. Secure on back. Center on wall. Nothing over bed if headboard is 5 ft or more. On each side over night stands add tall 5 ft tall and 36" wide mirrors dark frames. Hang 1" from top of night stand. Place lamps in center.

Your zen space will go where bookcase and TV are now. Remove bookcase. Wallpaper this area in grass cloth. Ad water feature on bookcase wall. And media where chair is.

Where desk is. Put chaise looking at firepl. Cover all windows as I said in other post.

At foot of chaise add a teal small area rug 5x7 push under chaise.

On opposite wall where I told you to put floor mirror. (Check TJMax for this). a matching mirror, center and secure.

No other art needed on walls. Keep it simple zen like. No clutter. Leave ceiling and beam as is.

I'm sorry don't think mirrors will work over night stands because windows. That's ok. Still do tall lamps etc. may need a gold tone sunburst mirror over headboard 45".

Wonderful ideas. thank you. heres the dilemma....Doors are made of solid fir, won't paint those. Entire house is of mtn style, in an area where red brick and dark acceptable. have a fireplace downstairs as well, so wont be whitewashing brick. Like the color suggestions and bed idea, yes platform bed sounds good, with teal and chocolate accent. Room is very large thought a mirror would make it seem bigger, and ceilings are high so creating height isn't necessary. Want to work with what we have. Downstairs is mission/craftsman style. Would like to cross that with the zen/yoga feel without being too spa like. Chairs at the end of the bed puts everything in center of room and empty on either side. Bookshelves are built ins. Can remove the shelving as you can see where one picture is inset, was trying that idea out. Was thinking maybe a screen in corner-on wall where pictures are.

Paint the crown molding to match the walls. Also, even if you've already painted the ceiling, repaint it to match the walls as well. It will add warmth, make the ceiling feel higher. The white ceiling doesn't work well with the warm wood beams. I would place a sofa facing the fireplace with it's back almost touching the end of the bed. and then build a seating group around that sofa.

To travisinteriors ... My husband really liked your ideas and appreciates the thought you put into this, the platform bed, chocolate color, teal accent, sitting area, etc. And, thanks to all those who commented. He has agreed to paint the ceiling, which I could not get him to do. I am hearing paint it the same color as walls. Does that sound right? Since its such a large room will that make the room look too big? Got the crown molding for free and is basically same size as trim, so it won't be the suggested larger size than trim. It needs to be painted, sounds like going same color as walls works, maybe? It will take us a while to get this done. But, will work with it. Just put the blinds in the entire house so won't be trading out for the suggested shades :/ Will review other suggestions once ceiling is done. Thanks again. Everyone's suggestions are appreciated.
