We are interested in a new furniture layout for our living room.
The room dimensions are 18'6" by 15'4" but as you can see, there is a large opening to the dining room/kitchen and a double door opening to the front hall so the furniture placement is quite tricky. Right now you walk into the back of a couch, which I don't love but can't seem to avoid. This is our main living space - the TV hides behind cabinet doors when not in use but we want ample comfortable seats to watch TV and enjoy the fireplace. Right now there is a lot of wasted space in front of the window so we are considering a sectional or getting a longer couch and a loveseat to add more seating and make better use of the whole room. The current couch is a not comfortable enough for everyday use so we want a longer, more comfortable couch but nothing bulky. We are fans of MCM furniture. We intend to keep the Eames lounge and ottoman in this room but the Aluminum Lounge will probably move to another room.

We also don't like how all the seating faces in the same direction but when we moved the Eames Lounge to the other end and angled it in, we never used it whereas it is everyone's favourite seat in the current location. Also have to keep a path open in this corner to get into the dining/kitchen. And we have a huge dog and a baby.
