Measuring the space might help. The pic appears elongated. If it's as narrow as it appears, the dreaded banquette with a rectange table will give you the most seating. Which brings up the other thing we need to know. How many of you are there day in and day out. Do you want the option of expanding for large family gatherings?

I dont need a ton of seating as its just myself and I dont throw any dinner parties. I think 6-8 is plenty of seats ... probably something with a leaf? Dining room is 12 × 12

I looked up the room sizes on the zillow listing and the dining area is 12 x 12. (Is that correct? Photo looks narrower.)To have a functional dining set for the space, you need as close to 3' all around a table in order for chairs to be pulled back with ease. The house is almost 100 years old, and I see some original wood work with the darker stain. Color wise, consider mixing up darker and light tones in your choices.

It is the darker stain on the legs of the chair I like a lot...works with the windows.

It would be helpful yo describe or show pictures of your other furniture, also what style do you like? Traditional, transitional, modern, etc. ? Some aspects of your space hint Craftsman?

I was going to ask the same as K Laurence. What's the style of your other furniture? Are you keeping the chandelier? What's your budget for everything? Are you wanting some sort of buffet as well?
