Need help for my living room

What is lacking here? A carpet? Maybe curtains? If yes then what colour?

Nice living room! I like your tables, they don't take up any visual space but I read once that you should only have one piece like that in a room. You definitely need a rug and drapes and hopefully many Houzzers will jump in to help you with the particulars. Good luck. :))

What's lacking is color, any color. The room is so totally neutral, you can go with any color you want. Start by picking a piece of art you love, or a rug you just must have, and take your accent colors from there.

Nice rom it lacks clor. Remove frames frm mantel. Add 3 pos in various heights. Try tea, with white and gray. ON windows a black and white chevron pattern, on ends only. Under that add a black bamboo shade. Home Depot has. No family pic in living rm instead put in bedroom. Like art over firepl. add walls color and teal, mix with black , go all size. Mix up with a pattern. On end tables. Add candles and vases in black and white. Rug a very deep peacock color 5 x7 .

Add peacock color to dining area to tie rooms together.

Bowl on coffee, add teal balls to it. Pier one has. If you can I would sell black dining chairs and go teal leather from pier one. You have a nice room just needs a accent color. Pier one has a lot of peacock feathers and accessories you may want to ck on. Peacock napkins and silver rings. With a silver charger and peacock plates mix with black would be nice. Get a white pearl mosaic vase. Fill, with peacock feathers and white or silver sticks. Cut to fit, place as center piece.

I like the bolder art for firepl. Ck TJMax pier one and Z Galleries for art. Place other one on another wall. Can we see room from window.

I actually don't find you need much colour. Your palette is very chic and I think you should keep it that way. What's mostly missing is texture. This is easily done using a rug and different pillows. Curtains would frame the windows and help ground the room. If you choose a colour, I suggest just touch of teal. Ideas for rugs.....(the third one is charcoal not black).

Contrary to what people might say.....you can have a patterned rug with patterned curtains as long as they compliment each other and don't clash. I suggest using grey and white to stay with your chic design.

Some pillows to add texture and pattern.....

I love this room! The ONLY thing I might do is remove the small white frames from the mantle.

More pillows to add texture and pattern.....and a touch of teal.....You don't need this many pillows......these are just to give you inspiration. :)

I agree with Abbyjean about removing the frames from the mantle. They contradict your sleek design. I would just keep the owl at one corner and let the painting take center stage. Also, replace the bowl on the coffee table with an organic one bringing in more texture. I thought this squirrel pillow could keep the owl company. ;)

The room looks very nice already but you could add a charcoal accent chair to balance out the fireplace.

I like All the stuff Lydia is suggesting. Don't get rid of family pics tho. Just find a different way to display them. As a feng Shui rule, you should never have pics of your family in your bedroom as it's the room for romance.
