What is the front door currently? Can you post a better straight on pic of the home? Are you looking to change just the door or the door and the sidelites?

Paint the trim around and above windows and the door black to tie in better with heavier black trim, shutters, etc.

For me the entry door should be the color of shutters in orther to stay in the same design line.

IMO, you have one of those rare houses where the stone is very nice and adds to the interest of the house. The lovely stone is hidden by the shutters. There's also a lot going on with the many different elements which is likely why you are stumped. Simplify.

I suggest you remove the shutters and let the stone and front door be the stars. You don't need the shutter supporting characters.

Then add landscaping and larger light fixtures (not as large as these, but you get the idea) as you can and your home will be gorgeous!

It would be nice if the storm door and main door were the same color, either black or a color that you like. If you already get a lot of light in, do you want to keep a solid colonial style or add more glass?

Sometimes I like sidelites painted to match the door.

Consider a door with glass that mimics the windows.

I would remove the shutters and the window boxes I like the stone maybe when you are redy a nicer color for the siding and trim. As for the door I agree match the window grid pattern and when you buy the door with the side lights they ashould all be the same color the sidelights are part of the door
