Please help with choosing the dresser placement.

I have a wall with two sockets on it. I want to place a dresser at this wall and it fits exactly between these sockets. But the problem is, the space between sockets and the sides of the wall are not even — the left one is 2,5sm smaller then the right one, so when placing the dresser it doesn't seem to be in the middle which is odd. The other idea is to shift the dresser to the right side and hide the right socket inside it. And then I don't know how much space to leave between the dresser side and the other wall — should I place it exactly in the corner, or leave some space between them? If yes, how much? Please help.

Do you already have the dresser on site?

Put it where you want it and take photos of it as it relates to the rest of the room.

For me personally, I would not butt the end up to the wall, but if the other end is too close to your walking path, you may need to move it closer to the wall.

Stand back and take your photos of the entire space, not just a single empty wall.

What will be in front of it, on the sides? etc.

Even though it might not be centered on the wall will suggest that you center it between the two outlets.

what's the big deal? cover up one of the outlets. since when do they need to have their own space?

i have a dresser w/a tv hung above it. the outlet is behind the dresser. You could also get an extended plug w/2-4 plug outlets on it. I use that for my computer items.

I'm really not understanding the problem here.

@Beth H. : I want to attach the dresser to the wall (it's 46 sm in depth I'm afraid it can trip over) and i need to remove everything that stands on its way. But I just figured out that my initial measurments were wrong and I can indeed put the dresser in the middle of the wall, I think I'll do that. Thanks for your comment!

I have never seen a dresser or nightstand tip over in 34 years. Is it a baby nursery? Either way, it wasn't the hand wring question : ) in any scenario

It's an 18" deep dresser as common as dirt.

Jan you no doubt have never seen anything other than quality dressers. The cheap light weight junk they sell to younger types will tip over if a drawer is open, if a child climbs the front. Most now come with hardware so you can bolt them to the wall!!! It's insane. First clue to leave a dresser in a showroom/on line--it comes with said hardware!!! Honey this is not an issue, worthy of the time it took you to type your query. Center the dang dresser on the wall and move on!!! In fact I rather wonder at some of these questions, if AI hasn't invaded Houzz and is laughing at those of us who bother to respond to their silliness.
