I don't like the bottom shelf on either of those. In a smaller space, showing as much of the rug as possible makes the room feel more spacious--all of your choices shown hide the rug.

I would find something with legs and open underneath. I think the black would tie in the black bar cabinet and not be so much wood tone. The glass top is nice-- avoids another tabletop surface--of which there are many already--plus you could see thru it to the rug underneath.

Unlike you, I think the piece you just got looks good in here. You don't have to be overly matchy matchy.

The wood looks great with your wood armchairs and with the top of your black cabinet. Before you move on to trying other pieces, get a tray for the top of this one that has some elements you find missing - perhaps a black tray.

What do you intend to have on the coffee table when guests are there and not? What you place on top will hugely change the look of it. Don't move on too fast!

I think the oak one you are considering is overkill and not subtle enough. The black and glass is nothing special. This one looks great.

Sometimes you can mix lots of wood color and sometimes you can't!

Not loving your mix, but more importantly not loving the two different cabinet size and colors on that one wall. It just looks like you brought furniture from your last house and just tried to fit it in the new house.

If you need storage, I suggest you do one long console cabinet instead, which can be made up of 2 or 3 of the same cabinet, as long as they can be butted up next to each other.

Or one larger console under the TV and get rid of the cabinet under the shelves. Not loving those shelves either ... I think you can do a lot better.

    no enough photos or info.

It's not the colors of wood, it's the layout.

I would center the dining table on the bar unit and shelves. too much stuff on and beside the tv credenza. TV too high.

and should be centered on the sofa. Do you need the ottomans for extra seating?

Get one large upholstered ottoman that will serve as a coffee table.

if you are limited on space and need extra seating occasionally, get cubes and make a coffee table that you can separate, and use with a large tray.

Can you show ALL the angles of the room please? "Company " does not care your cocktail table. they come for the food and the company of friends. Rush design is always a fail and you have issues in this room beyond the cocktail table: ) as it feels cluttered

There is too much of furnishings, and we are not seeing the whole.

{Post all the angles, and nothing is so terrible that you rush into a purchase. Agree the tv mount.not good.

Whoa NELLIE........... previous post and previous suggestions

Lose the ottomans if you want capacity for snacks at the cocktail table.

Think more on the lines of 30 x 60 and very open.

    You have dining right there, for additional seating. so pick a poison. If you want small pull up seats to a coffee table, and yes that is a lovely concept. Those you have are too large;

    General · More Info

    ^^

That is 28 x 56 above and an inexpensive swivel stool from Home Goods in a summer lake house, always a crowd, It takes snacks and drinks aplenty.

Always please ? Stay in the same thread, for the SAME room...................

I think the cabinetry looks fine.

What is behind the TV wall? If a room where it doesn't matter, a solution to the dangling cord is to drill holes behind the tv and down below the cabinet and thread the cord behind the wall and back through. Viola! We did this at another house, but the storage wall of laundry room was behind the TV wall so the holes didn't matter.

Another solution is to put an electrical plug directly behind the TV -- this involves calling an electrician, but for me would be well worth the cost not to see a dangling cord.
