I did go with a gold light. I like it. I’m not sure what color to paint the doors.

The doors are "not" a feature....keep them the same color as your trim/baseboards. You could paint the wall an accent color....but you've got a whole house to decorate....start with the big areas....and progress to the smaller areas when decorating.
