Can you put the credenza on the short wall and art on the long wall?

"Long" is HOW long? Take more pictures of the entire space, including hearth area.

Make a drawing of the dimensions.....show the entrance from kitchen opening, the location of fire, the dimension of all the walls. feet and inches for everything.

The round table, while very pretty, may not have been the best for the narrow space as my GUESS is it is 54 inch diameter,, eating 18" of width to the room that you needed.

Measure, draw, and return with that in a comment box, uploaded as a jpeg.

Wondering with the ceiling’s treatment and molding on the fireplace, adding a complementary molding might tie in well, without having to add elsewhere. If you tape, it may help you envision.

Otherwise, large artwork could be stunning and fill the wall. I’d skip a plant, as it’s not enough to make a difference and might also look too random.

If interested, to create balance, you could add a narrow console/sideboard on the back wall.

I am not able to replace the dining room table.

Some things are worth waiting / saving for.....and the room feels a tilt in weight to the window end., and you probably sense that?

A long space such as yours. need a visual breaking point, make the LOOONG wall more manageable.

Place a mirror on the short wall and a sideboard if you have room.

Then place a series of canvas art on the long wall.

do you need all 6 chairs? if you removed 2 and got a shallow buffet (say, 12") and placed art over that, it could work.

your room is a bit sedate. jazzing it up w/some color, prints, the plant, would help give it a bit of life

I do like the frame molding idea but it would need to be done on all of the walls in that room. the sconces really make the look, along w/the small console and art

not everyone has a Jackson Pollock, but there are copies!

A long thing credenza (low profile) would go very well here, molding possibly too or even wainscoting if you're open to that.

Would definitely have more options with a rectangle table but since you have to keep the table then, work around the limited space.

Color will also take the eyes off the vast abyss of hallway-look to it.
