Getting closer but still stuck on mantel and how to cover the seam on the side where the brick meets the drywall above. The fireplace is brick and the wall above it is going to be drywall. My contractor said the wall is not level so I’m going to have to box it out either as deep as the fireplace works or just 2 inches deep in order to have the wall be level. There will be a seam on the sides that I don’t know how to conceal unless I have a Mattel that somehow raps around the side and if I do, how does something like that get mounted?I like the look of a simple mantle and I attached some photos. Any suggestions on how to cover the horizontal side seams between the brick and the boxes in drywall above. Thanks!
