need Exterior Stucco Paint Color Advice!

I am looking for professional feedback on a color palette for my stucco home. I’m considering Sherwin-Williams Alabaster for the body and Urbane Bronze for the trim.

The Context:
• Exposure: West-facing (receives heavy afternoon sun).

• Neighborhood: A mix of stucco with Spanish tile roofs and siding with traditional tile. Most homes are blues, pinks, or grays; dark trim is relatively uncommon.

• Architecture: Spanish-style stucco.

My Concerns:

  1. The Trim: Does the dark trim around the windows feel too heavy or "obnoxious" for this architectural style?

  2. Exposure: With a west-facing orientation, I’m concerned about Alabaster washing out or the Urbane Bronze absorbing too much heat.

  3. Neighborhood Fit: Will this combination stand out too aggressively among the lighter, more traditional colors in the area?

I’ve attached the current exterior (landscaping removed) and the visualizer rendering. Open to any other color combinations that might complement the Spanish tile roof!

I'm in FL with lots of these faux-Mediterranean stucco homes. I would say that 75% are going with more of a monochromatic look using the wall color as the trim color too, and 25% are going with contrasting trim, some medium toned and some dark brown.

There is no right or wrong way, just different choices, and it is only paint, so it can easily be repainted if you try something bolder and don't love it.

I sampled Urbane Bronze on my house and it looked greyed out and like it was a faded color, so I went with a deeper brown that matched my Bronze/brown Marvin windows.

Thank you, Celery! Any recommendations on what color this is? Also, to clarify, the dark contrast was what I am considering. The blah is my current color.

I personally don't like the severe contrast. Yes, this is lap siding, but the color is great for stucco too. a nice compliment to your roof.

your home has great trim detail, I would paint the stucco SW Sleepy Blue and use a creamy white for the trims. SW Alabaster or a bit warmer.

I live in SW Florida with eastern and western exposure. I wanted an off white for my trim and found most off whites that seemed to work in the store completely washed out on my house. I ended up with SW Alpaca at 75% and it truly reads off white. I agree with Celery regarding a mid-tone trim. Is your roof red? You could try a greige like SW Mega Griege @75%. It's what I used on my house body and I really like the contrast I have without it being too stark.

That combination would be a giant NO for me.

Yes, the roof is red Spanish tile and I prefer warmer tones than cooler tones to complement that.

The Mege Greige reads more warm than cool.

I have the dark contrast, but I designed a more minimalist Spanish inspired house with minimal trim and all straight lines. I have lintels over the windows that got painted brown to match the bronze/brown windows. My garage doors are painted in the same brown.

If I go out later, I'll try to remember to take photos of the few houses that used the contrasting darker trim. Those houses actually copied my color scheme, but they have arched windows and window trim similar to yours.

    As for colors

A very close real-world match in the Sherwin-Williams range would be:

    • SW 7037 Balanced Beige (lightened)
    • or more accurately in appearance: SW 9166 Drift of Mist (slightly deepened)

If you want a slightly darker trim—something in the range of SW Accessible Beige (7036)

or SW Anew Gray (7030), which will give you a bit more definition while still keeping that soft, cohesive look with Alabaster.

Do you think anew beige leans warm or cool tone?

Do you mean Anew Gray? Kylie M Interiors said it leans warm but you'd have to try it to tell.

Alabaster is going to show very yellow with the west light.

My suggestion for you to consider is B.M. Edgecomb Gray for the siding. It has a LRV which will not fade out during the day and will not turn yellow. There are several dark colors that will work with it, but Mohegan Sage would be striking if you have dark greens in your trees and plantings.

Just to confuse you a little more, lol, our home in the desert has a red tile roof & the stucco is painted in Sw”Jogging Path”, appears light because our house is west facing & the sun there pretty intense ( La Quinta, PS area ) I wish I knew the name of the trim, sort of a medium toned brownish gray.

K Lawrence - I like that color! It’s a bit taupe. With a creamy white trim might be nice. I think these comments have me moving away from the dark trim.

Elizabeth Walden, the color is almost undefinable, has undertones. You might want to check out the review of it , shows how light affects it.…

Yes, love “Jogging Path” on our Spanish revival in the 🌵. So funny, we have SWUrbane Bronze trim on our MCM home at the beach, looks good on it but I think your creamy white trim idea better on your house, totally different style.

Gorgeous!! I like this combo! I don’t know if it would work in my neighborhood- everyone has lite trim. I think I lost my nerve for dark trim and lean to the liter.
