Nice fixture........doesn't seem to be the optimum shape for a foyer though.

If this is the formula for selecting the diameter of the light fixture then your 30" diameter of the chandelier means your foyer should be no less than 15 x 15.

Sure, a foyer light can stand alone, but it should still complement the design theme you have for the rest of the house. It can't be something that stands out as being the odd man out.

What do the rest of the lights look like?

Do you have a dining room chandelier?

do you see the foyer light from another room?

I have higher ceilings in my foyer and did a group of 3 lanterns. I have an eclectic mix, but these still fit into my "Spanish-lite" overall design for the house and light fixtures.

Not my space, but the photo that confirmed I could get the look I wanted with these pendants. The ones I ordered are also one size smaller.

I was thinking of this one for over the kitchen table. So not matching at all, except for the gold look.

Do a design board with all the fixtures you have on the main floor.

Assuming you mean the foyer is 9'x10'. Add and convert to inches. Your foyer light should be 19" in width. You want the light to hang 7' from the floor (unless you have basketball players in the family).

Foyer lights can stand alone, but should relfect the overall design of your home.

Are you concerned because you can see kitchen and dining room from the foyer?
