I havent checked out Soft Surroundings this season so good suggestion ... however, in general, I am not a big fan -- I do have a few items I like a lot but I return so much more than I keep! I find the cuts and styles are off for me.

Yes! I like my Pact dress quite a bit ... and like them in general but not the "pretty hippie girl" style I am looking for right now.

ba&sh has some really interesting options-- but at a higher price point than I want to go as I am losing weight. I am going to bookmark them for the fall though!

I think I may need to spend some time pulling up images of what "pretty hippie girl" means to me. This style may exist only in my head :) ... in the past, Lucky Brand, Sundance and Free People were really good sources .... go back 20yr and JJill was in bunch too.

I have been looking at April Cornell and this top hits perfectly even though it isnt a pattern or block print. It is flowy and visually interesting! Unfortunately, they don't have my size-- I have twice received notice that it is back in stock but by the time I get to it, it is sold out again.

Oh! Check out Dolma, too. I had a block print Dolma shirt for years until it finally wore out.

A friend of mine has some cute boho type tops from Natural Life. I have never ordered from there myself, but the prices look very reasonable.

I do like this top from Rails ... not really "hippie" style but it is loose and flowy. I am not sure I can wear Rails in normal sizes but may be worth a try.

I was going to also suggest Natural Life. I see them on FB all the time too, and I think I've heard nice things about them. I've looked into a few things that caught my eye but there's always something that doesn't fit the bill for me. So, I've never actually tried them but they sure look pretty and fit your description, funky!

omg Sueb, that Saks dress is just ridiculous. Would anyone actually buy that and wear that? sigh, feeling old.

I have a couple of sundresses from Natural Life. They’re too strappy and short for me to wear in public, but they’re great around the house/yard on a hot day. I have one other ”suitable for public viewing” dress too, which is too long on me but it’s very cute. I wish they carried petite sizes — I find a lot of their tops are too big/long and IMO the quality isn’t worth tailoring.

PS oh, Liverpool might be worth looking at too. I have a flowery, flowy summer top from them.

I was looking at Liverpool! I have some of their jeans (which I like) but no tops.

I think I will end up picking up a piece here and there vs finding a bunch at one site. In theory, I actually prefer that approach but was trying to shortcut the process lol.

Famolare, yes. in college there was a store, GIGIF (gee I’m glad I’m female!🌝) near the University where I got tall pair of them (style as in the photo) and yes they were comfortable. Easily walked all over in those shoes. I kept them for a long time but tossed them before the come back.

Jilly, I recently ordered my Mom 2 pair of slippers that she likes from Zulily (Spenco from Waco Shoes). The only place I could find that still had them. It all went well, even after ordering the wrong size and needing to cancel, then reorder. Customer Service was very helpful.

I just played golf behind the slowest foursome of men on the planet. We have a golf course across the street at the beach and most of my friends play. They were bugging me again to take it up (I played briefly 20yrs ago to humor my astonishingly patient DH.). I told them the worst thing about being a beginner golfer is the stress of holding people up. You have just proven my point!

I agree! That is why I have never played on a real course. Only on those pitch and putt, 3 par courses, many years ago and even then I was a problem!

The slowpokes were in front of us. The guys behind us were happy to be day drinking! We were keeping time.

Ome of the things we learn in the ladies’ fivers group is to how to keep up the pace of play. We have someone appointed to call time on each hole and over the past year I’ve learned just how long 15 minutes really is (the time allotment for a golf foursome on each hole). As long as we are keeping to that standard there’s no problem. It’s being held up by guys who take multiple shots or excessively pace the green to get the lay of it (and then miss the putt anyway) that are annoying to US.

Yes, i know ,,, i meant you proved my point that beginner golfers can feel rushed😔

Thanks for thinking of me, Ruby! I have seen the Sanctuary top but it is a little too on the mark ... and maybe leaning too close to patchouli hippie for me lol. That has been part of my struggle ... I want "pretty hippie girl" which is a narrow band for me -- they typically include some combination of: light colors, florals/block prints/ikat, flowiness, ruffles, tassels, embroidery.

I was able to catch this April Cornell top back in stock ... it is likely a size too big but I think this is a style that will look fine if a little big.

Someone (Sue, maybe?) mentioned Liverpool and I have liked them in the past and I have saved these .. but not purchased yet. Again, not exactly "hippie" but has a touch of the vibe

I’m sorry to bump this again, but wanted to update about the pair of Famolare sandals I ordered and posted about above:

I don’t like the shoes or their customer service.

They have what looks like excess glue with scratches going down the side of one heel. For $80+ that’s not ok. They just look poorly made and slapped together. And I don’t find them comfortable. (When I shared that last part, they said I was the only person they’d heard of saying this shoe was uncomfortable. Their mother earth/hippy/peace and love website said refunds are ”no questions asked”, but ok then.)

They were on clearance, so I can only send them back and get store credit. But I think I’m just going to donate them and take the hit. I don’t see anything else I’d want to trade for.

tl;dr I do not recommend!

As a young teen I had favorite sandals that I referred to as jesussandals— toe ring instep strap. Loved them a lot.

After passing on the Taos toe loop last

summer due to cost, I got a pair this year. They are comfortable (a bit tight in bunion area on one foot) the slight heel lift makes them slightly less casual.

I’m trying to keep the insole clean so they don’t look so footprint grungey when I drop them in the hallway at yoga studio.

Wow.. sorry to hear that, Jilly. I have always had great customer service from FP. Do you have a store nearby? I would maybe give in-store a try... OR I would call back and express your dissatisfaction.

I get that they and many other retailers have specific rules for clearance items but it shouldnt exclude returning something that is defective!

Yes, Famolare shoes. They were popular in the ’70s and ’80s; I had some when I was a kid. They were known for cushy, wavy soles.

I had no idea they were still around until I saw an ad recently.
