No hanging drapes to fill the space.

Is your goal privacy? Hard to know what to suggest without seeing your design style. Some rooms would look great with nothing on the windows there.

Not to worried about privacy as we are adding electronic blinds to the windows, just wanted to know if curtains would work!

Curtains would "work", but why? For a designer look? What about furniture choices? Have you decided yet on furniture? That would determine if the "look" needs curtains...

What kind of room is this? Exercise room? Laundry room? Mudroom? Family room? Living room? Bedroom? Dining room?

If you mean motorized solar shades they give no privacy at night only during the day so some drapes if privacy is the issue at night. IMO drapes come after furniture is at least chosen but better if installed.
