First...is it under warranty? Contact the seller, the wood was too green...not kiln dried before it was made into a table. I'd consider it a manufacturers defect. Most sellers would give a FULL refund and tell you to keep it...Wayfair would, for instance. Then...make the repair yourself.

Get a refund and purchase another table. It need not be veneer. Just better made.

That table looks like it would be easy to rig up a clamping system, so I would try injecting wood glue into the crack and use something like cargo straps with ratchets to act as clamps to tightly clamp the 2 sides together. Be sure to wipe up any glue that squeezes out of the crack so it doesn't affect the finish.

I once had a very high end lamp do a similar thing-wood cracked and paint perled. it was in our weekend cabin, which we visited infrequently during the winter. When i complained, the manufacturer told me it was due to temperature fluctuations in our house. We kept the furnace low when we weren’t there. If your 3 month Florida trip is a yearly event, i would take the cash and buy a different table. But, I agree, I love the table!

That's exactly why my last advice was so good. A topical wax repair accommodates, not fights, the wood's movement. If it splits further, wax a little more.

There's no clamping that back together permanently.

I would take the refund unless s contracted from can maintain at least 30% humidity when you are gone for.the 3 months. It looks like the top layer has contracted from drying out. I would accept the refund and look for a US built table. That table may have been produced in a high humidity location like Malaysia.

US-made doesn't necessarily guarantee higher quality. Go by what you see and feel. If it seems too reasonably priced to be of good quality, then that's probably the best indicator.

You probably know that good quality wood furniture can last a long time. Lower quality doesn't, as unfortunately you saw with this.

It looks like there are more cracks than just one. What was the humidity of your house when you were away for the 3 months? Those cracks look like the wood dried out. If you get the same table make sure you control the humidity or the same thing will happen.

The cracks are all there intentionally. They aren’t “cracks “ they are just lines in the table. The one that I referred to is a crack all the way through the top and bottom of table.
