I know tv is 5'10" from the floor a picture way up over it would look strange??

I think @K Laurence means ”a picture would help” to understand the situation.

i.e. a picture of the space.

If the tv is mounted at almost 6 feet from the floor, it might be a bit too high for comfortable viewing.

He likes a big tv, and many people do. I would do something like this:

This is my 75" Samsung Frame TV with 3" DecoTV Frame with built-in for storage and display space. The unit is 16 ft wide and just over 10 ft tall, and the ceiling in the room is 12 ft high.

These days 75" is not really considered a "BIG" TV, specially in a larger family room!

maybe you don't need any decor around the TV. Mount it on the wall at a comfortable viewing height and leave it alone.

Every wall doesn't need to be decorated.

Show us a pic of the wall. Yes, there is hope. And yes, it is hung too high. Center of the TV should be a eye level when sitting.

An 85" console would be great so the big t v doesn't look top heavy. Even better looking, IMO, would be a piece close to the size of the 12' wall. Here is an idea...piece is $209.00!!!!!
