Thank you Julia. there are at least 50 with scapes now; it seems too early for all of that much scaping. I suppose the heat even though it has been so dry. We are supposed to get rain over the weekend and early next week and it appears our long hiot streak may change a bit. I will have to see it to believe it though.

Thank you, Nancy, Debra, Sherry and Brad They are promising several days of rain and a change in the weather in general.. Oddly enough, a good many mid season bloomers have scapes up along with the early and extra early bloomers.

The season has begun! I know what you mean about scapes everywhere. But..so dry that you are right-bloom season may be impacted. I saw a bud drop today that I am sure is due to the lack of rain.

Yes, the forecast has the Saharan winds to finally abate. Cooler temps and more humid, which is necessary to reduce the April deficit. We were fortunate to get .6 yesterday.

I think you are getting rain today, Kate as we are supposed to, but it needs to rain a lot to help. WE are also finally for the first time in about 7 months not supposed to be above regualr temps.

Mantis, Sahara winds is descriptive of the way it has been. I am glad you got rain and hope for some ourselves. The drought has just gotten worse as the months passed, and it is past time for a change. The plants put up scapes regardless.
