dont see anything else black [i dont think your counters are even black]......so I might switch the metal tone to a nickel finish.....as in your current hardware. there are many styles.....you really just have to page through the catalogues ..then narrow down what size you desire.

I agree with Lyn. I don't care for bare bulbs shining down on my eating space. Can you show us a picture of the whole bay window area?

What other light sources are there? Any undercab leds? Task lighting is helpful. Followed by ambient, then decorative like pendants.

I have no clue with no pics of the kitchen , the range and sink issue would be my first fix . I need to see the whole space to advise about lighting

Look for a new light that is complementary to the table’s and suggest it be shorter than what you have now. See length difference below.

I see a surface mount ambient light in the center of the ceiling. One pendant over the sink. There may be a light in the hood over the range. Maximizing the output of your lights and adding dimmers should be on the list. A 17w led A19 regular screw in flood throw bulb from Costco puts out more than 1300 lumens. I'd put that in the pendant over the sink. And check to see what fits in the ceiling light and hood fixture if there. Work zone light is primary, imo.

Am going to suggest a recessed downlight over the sink instead of a pendant. The pendant over the sink looks out of place. A recessed downlight will be more of a task light instead of decorative.

Kendra, I agree with you and Norwood Architects. it had not occurred to me that the sink light is what makes this all look odd, in addition to the height and size of the table light. Thank you very much for the clarity.

The pendants you have are appropriate in size, and I assume they're functioning well /giving you adequate light. What they don't have is one iota of personality -- and I don't know what you'd like to bring in.

If it were my space, I'd go with stained glass pendants for color and personality.

Theresa, there were stained glass before the current pendants and i really didnt care for them, however I have seen beautiful ones that I like. i am pretty sure I will have the one over the sink removed and hang a larger one over the table at the right height. A stylish stained glass might be perfect there. Thanks.
