I would do a stained wood planking on the ceiling. It would need to be a stain that would compliment what ever color stain you are using on your flooring.

Paint the ceiling the same khakai color as the wall color, just cut slightly lighter. It will help bring the ceiling down by making it feel more connected to the walls.

Your view out of these incredible windows IS the focal wall. I certainly wouldn't compete with that focus by using teal paint. If you want pops of color, I'd use it instead with teal rugs.

Cat-ky… yes, that was the original intent, however, the costs of supplies over the build have gone up more than 30% and there has to be budget cuts in the ”nice-to-haves,” so i guess im adulting well and making different choices!

You could try the khaki paint in the bedroom with a similar ceiling first to see if you like it, even though the windows may face a different direction with more or less sun.

Khaki is a fashion choice, you may want something different in a few years. The cost to scaffold and repaint the great room ceiling will be considerable. I would choose an off white paint for the ceiling because it would prevent the dark-and-looming ceiling look and because it would give me flexibility to change the wall paint color in a few years.

I consider khaki a timeless neutral that will always compliment the nature outside of the window.

It also seems neutral enough that over time you can pair a host of changing accent room colors with it. Though admittedly, teal and salmon don't necessarily come to mind as accent colors to combine with khaki. @tikabelle What are the names of the teal, salmon, and khaki you want to combine?

The ceiling is the focal point no getting away from that and adding fake beams will add to that. . I have never seen a khaki plant so not a color I would choose if neutral is the plan with all the other colors planned . IMO way too soon to choose wall color or ceiling.

I used boxed beams on my flat 12 ft ceilings, but I would not add any faux beams to your space. Don't visually cut that space with beams.

Instead plan to hang 1 or 2 amazing chandeliers.

You will probably change your tune on having a khaki ceiling once you see it with the drywall installed. It will seem like a much smaller space than what you see now. So you probably won't want to make it feel even smaller with a darker color. Have a palette with options ready, wait til then for decisions.

I don't like to emphsize triangle wall peaks where they meet the ceiling.

I would choose the same soft white for window trims, ceilings and walls and so they blend together and open up the space.
