You can use any color that you like. It’s your space. Blue, cream, etc. Drape some clothing or fabric in those colors over the bed, and see how you like it.

If you want another color idea, I think a blush pink could also be nice.

When you decide on the blanket color 3 throw pillows that coordinate would help, the brown pillow does not. Did you know you can purchase decorative throw pillow covers that slip over and zip. It’s great when you decide to change out fabrics or colors for different seasons without having to store a lot of pillows.

The problem I think is that the bedding is not complementary color and style wise.

If interested and comforter can be returned, see below for a room that feels coordinated (wrong green/don’t suggest all those pillows). Solids are much easier to work with and coordinated layering is also key.

If keeping your comforter, find a throw that is the same color as its background (skip your cushion) and be sure to layer for a more up to date, contemporary look.

I like the pink but the comforter is driving every other choice in the space and tah includes wall color.. Show us the whole space .I do not like over done bed decor with tons of pillows throws not needed . The pics are so color distorted it is impossible to give good advice

We don't have good visuals to make any determination on color, how anyone can say that the wallpaper is "earthy" when it looks light blue in the close up photo is beyond me. And the velvet decorative pillow looks like a dark taupe, not rust. But again it's all a guessing game since the colors in the photos are so distorted.

You might want to adjust the pillows on your bed to make a better presentation.

While I like the design of your current bedding and it goes well with the headboard, you may want to consider changing it out to something that pulls in more of the green of the wallpaper combined with the blue of the headboard. Adding the green at the foot of the bed pulls the look together.

When I took the photos, they came out looking like green and that’s why I did a close up of the grass cloth and head board. the grass cloth has blues and there is a dark blue headboard .The close up photo does show the correct color of duvet.

As I mentioned in my comment at the top of your thread: there are many colors that you can use with your bedding.

I do not exactly know what all the colors are in your bedding; and when I did the couple of visuals that I posted in my previous comment - I did not know your exact wall color(s). However, the suggestions I gave you are still valid. And the bottom line is: There are many colors you can potentially use. So pick a color that you like and that you think looks good. It is your space.

Thanks for clarifying what color the wallpaper is, EVR, it's very pretty. Clearly there's no green in the wallpaper or in the bedding. The bedding is very nice and doesn't need to be changed if you like it.

My original response above still stands--get a dark blue blanket and stage the bed better.

There is nothing wrong with how her bed is ”staged”. The OP did not come here for instructions on how to make her bed... There are many ways to make a bed.

Also, there are many colors that she can use. Not just dark blue.

She's free to take any, all or none of our advice. If she likes the bed setup as is, then so be it. But there's nothing to prevent me from giving an opinion. And if she wants to tell me that I'm out of line, that's okay. I don't need to be scolded by anyone else.

And yes, there are other colors, but my advice is dark blue, mostly for contrast.

Thanks for all your advice. The bedroom is not finished yet (no bedside tables), the bed hasn’t been set in place and I haven’t hung my window treatments yet. It was a couple quick photos and as I said before, it’s not the best photos. My walls are actually a white color and the wall behind the bed is blue grass cloth. I think I’ll try different color options for the throw/blanket.

So pretty, Celery! The dark blue blanket and shams really look great and provide a nice contrast to the pattern on the duvet and the velvet pillow.

Plug-in wall sconces might be a nice option for you, @EVR. I showed the general idea in my first comment at the top of your thread. There are battery operated wall sconces, too. With both options, there are also some that are available with remote control. Many vendors have these, including Amazon. So if you want to save space on your night stands, could be something to consider.

The bedding is beautiful, and I like your velvet lumbar pillow choice. You have great taste and style. Have fun with the throw blanket colors and the fabrics/textures, too. You could even do a faux fur! Lots of ways you can go. You could really change them out every few months, if you wanted to.

I really like Celery pillow placement because I would have never thought to mix the rows with sizing and color. I’m leaning toward blue for the blanket at the end of the bed. And I also like the idea of wall sconces from freedomplace1. I will definitely use that idea since the room is a little tight with the king bed! Thanks to everyone with all your suggestions, y’all have been very helpful. That’s why I come to Houzz for ideas!!

I'm much more concerned about the bed and headboard placement. Having a bed shoved into a corner and having a headboard that covers part of a window is a deal breaker for me. Can the bed go eleswhere in the room?

Unfortunately, no. And I haven’t set the bed yet. I’ve got to first hang some sheers on the windows. The windows on the right wall w(when looking at the bed) are almost the entire wall. Then you have a closet door at the foot
of the bed and a small wall with a dresser. Then the left wall has the entrance from the
hallway plus a bathroom door. So I’m pretty stuck on that wall. I’ve been in other townhomes in my community and it seems to work with the king bed on that wall.
