Look for an ivory porcelain tile for the shower walls. Take a piece of the floor tile to a tile store for comparison. There are a lot of choices in that color, so you should be able to find something. You do not want to introduce something else with variegation like a marble of any kind.

We will need to run ivory travertine on the floor so it flows properly from the main room it butts up to.

Not only is perfectly fine to not continue the same flooring into a bathroom, I find it much preferred. Mentally, I want my bathroom to read as a completely separate and private space. There is nothing wrong with the two rooms complimenting each other, but better if they do not flow one into the other.

I agree with Kendrah - I wouldn't run the same travertine tile into the bathroom. I would use a different tile that complements the travertine - but doesn't match it.

I do like the idea of a checkered floor - if you still want to use travertine.

This is a small floor area and we wouldn’t feel comfortable putting in a checkered floor. The reason we felt it needed to be the same tile is, there are 2 bedrooms also off the travertine floor that would have wood floors like the sample I showed you for the bathroom vanity, so now we already have 2 types of flooring in this small space so we didn’t really want to add a 3rd type of floor that wouldn’t be going any where else in the house, these pictures show the doors off the common room.

If we didn’t use the ivory travertine then what would you suggest we use.
We would use the same tile on the wall, floor and shower if we were to use something else. I have been to so many different tile stores and brought 24x48 tiles back with me and most are turning grey when I get them into our space or they look too dated.

I think that you could use a tile on the bathroom floor that has some of the travertine color + some of the wood color. It would be a nice transition from the travertine that is all over the main (public) area of your home to the wood that is in the bedrooms (private areas).

MSI has a tile - Angora Geometric Pattern - that looks basically the same as the one shown above.

This one below might have too much gray in it - but there are similar mosaics without a lot of gray pieces.

This one below might work as a shower tile (if the cream/beige color works with your travertine). The gray is more of a bluish gray than just a cool gray color:

Dani_m08, wow thank you for opening my eyes to more options. I’ll have to look at how something like this will work. We really like using 24” x 48” tile on the floor and the walls, but maybe something could be different on the floors outside of the shower.
I agree that it should have the colours that are in the cabinet and possibly the travertine .

Here are some tiles I was looking at that I was going to go see tomorrow, I’ll look for something creamier/ivory and possibly use a patterned floor outside the shower.
If anyone likes any of these large tiles , I would be putting them in the shower and in the vanity wall.
No sure how this will work but I’m feeling better not using the travertine floor, I feel it has opened up some more options.

Hi everyone, well we have chosen a tile, I brought home 3 -2x4 tiles in matte finish and Taj Mahal Ivory is what we have chosen. You can’t tell from the pictures because the ivory travertine is showing up yellow when it’s not.
The other 2 tiles were Marshall Gold which is a veined tile and we felt it was too white , and Belvedere Ivory turned out to be too grey. I hope I’m ok with this since it all has to be bought this coming week as the installer is coming in on the 11th , what I would like to know is if I could use Alabaster on the ceiling and the walls just different finishes or if you could suggest something else , please let me know. It is a north facing bathroom.
