I'd get a large mat that covers most of your entry in a colorful pattern with navy and white. I might run some vines up the columns. You want one that twines, not that has feet that attach. You can run wires for the vine to twine around. If your ledge on top of your columns is wide enough, you might put a spilling plant.

Celery, even though your mockups are very pretty, OP doesn't have any room in front of the columns, on either side of the door, or in the space between column bases and the house.

I would simply add a large welcome mat that spans across both doors and a pretty pot with some sort of topiary or trellis that would hold climbing flowers.

Julie, how much space is in front of the columns? More than it appears? If not enough, maybe planters could be set down below in front. Just thinking something tall in them, as in Celery’s examples, could still look good.

New sconces, new hanging light, paint the entire frame the blue of the front door. That will hide the fact the door/arch is not one piece.

Take out those white things in the arch window...I can't even give them the correct name "muntins" because they don't deserve it...awful. That will leave the glass empty, which doesn't look right, either. Have the window frosted or do it your self with peel and stick paper.

The house, from what I see, is supposed to resemble Greek architecture. Sconces would have been installed on the columns, not on the house. I'd take them off and replace with LED small angled toward the ground light.

The doors are 72" wide. What is the measurement under the arch from the door out...where you want a rug? Need the measuement also for correct size for hanging lantern.

You could transplant the plants I see as you step down and replace with planters.

Thank you all. Love the greenery ideas. @Celery. Visualization, Rendering images, your renderings are gorgeous and I love both looks but don't have the space in front of the columns for a planter. I might play around with very narrow planters between the columns and front wall like in your classic elegance example. My concern with that is that I'd have to move the planters towards the center too much to be seen, and that would narrow the width too much. Maybe with the right planters I could pull it off, though. @chloebud and @oncape, putting planters on the ground in front of the step may work, too. @Sigrid I live in Florida, USA - I like the thought of trailing some Jasmine up the columns, too. @oncape, love the idea of painting the entire frame the same color as the door! And the entire space available for a rug would be a width of 7' (narrowest part, between columns) and depth of 8' from the very front to the very back of the landing area.
