another asparagus question

I cant find the recent discussion on harvesting asparagus but I started following the strategy recommending cutting every spear throughout the month. I am enjoying eating it every night. But what is the end game? When do I stop and let them grow ferns?

Here's that recent Asp thread: Do you prune asparagus?

In my past Asp experience the spears are pickable for about 4-5 weeks.

I usually pick until the first or second week in June, depending on the weather, and I'm in zone 5b Michigan, so your window may vary from mine. That's about 4-6 weeks, since my first spears are just peeking through, about an inch tall. Figures, there is going to be a frost warning tonight and my patch is way too big to cover, so the next spears will have to do, I guess, but they'll also be popping up in just a couple more days.
