Living room refresh help

I have a mock up of a living room refresh but am having trouble finding exact products to match. i like an arhaus/RH vibe. i have only had grey/blues/silver up to this point, so transition to browns is a bit foreign to me. appreciate any product links or recommendations from the group.

How do you access your current seating arrangement? Hard to tell by your photo. Is this a one way in and out scenario where you enter up near the TV? It looks very tight. The rendering appears to have extra room that you don't have so one thing you need to be careful of is scale here. I suggest you take a measurement and drawer a floorplan of the usable space for this room including openings and windows and if youre doing the eating area and island seating that as well. This way we can help you find appropriate scaled pieces for the space. As far as where to access the furniture where are the pieces on your mood boards from? Who did the mock up and were the item links not included? If you like RH and Arhaus you can take that into one of their stores and get the free service they offer. Pottery Barn does it too. Honesty what you are showing here is available just about everywhere so I would suggest you decide on what your investment amount is going to be then that will help with where you need to source the items. report back once you have the room/s drawn out and give us an idea of budget.

Love your inspo photo. You’ll want to have space measurements to consider the pieces. Looks like the coffee table is too small so may want to consider having two for easy reach from each sofa.

It seems like you need tables, lamps, art on the walls, and pretty window treatments. If you are considering furniture changes I would remove the silver chairs and replace them something that looks less like ” man cave”.

These sources could help you with the style you desire on a budget.

Plan to lower the mounting height for the TV.

Here are a few different angles of the space. we have a nice view, so i am open to a sectional to open the area up more. this was just a quick chatGPT mockup. the area is 16’x16’. I didnt have a good experience with the pottery barn design service-i had an appt scheduled and they flaked on me last minute after i took off work. open on budget-i want to invest in high quality pieces now that my kids are older.

16’ goes to midway of left arched window and is how far abck we have chairs now. wall to edge of outer sliding glass doors measures 12’

    More questions....

1 . .Do you prefer recliners? I notice you have them and it looks like your rendering has them as well.

    2. Is the TV so high because you lie back in the recliners to watch? Admittedly the placement of the TV is really really high and it looks odd in a big way. The only reason I can think of you mounting it that high is because you;rw lying down or far back when you watch it.

3 does anyone sit on the sofas to view TV or is it too uncomfortable to sit there for viewing unless you lie down?

4 How many are in the household? Ages? How many use the space?

    5. Do you entertain? If so how many people on average do you expect to sit in the room?

    6. You have a beautiful view. Do you want your seating to take advantage of that view?

the recliners were a request of my husband. we can move to sitting chairs if we get a couch/sectional with a reclining feauture. and we can absolutely move the tv down. admittedly we hung that ourselves several years ago and didn’t know what we were doing. 4 total in the house, kiddos are 8 and 10. dont entertain often now but a lot of that is because im a bit self conscious about the house. would love to enhance the space and have guests, and show off the great view.

Is the room off the family room a formal dining room? Living room? I see a sofa in there so I am assuming formal living room.

Right now its a formal living room, although the space isnt used often. we have a separate formal dining room that is currently serving as a kids game room.

You need to draw and measure all you are showing. Make a scaled floor plan. Every solid wall,, every window, every passage hall or opening has a...has a dimension.

If you have the house plan post it!

Right now? You have more couches than any would ever need.

Yes the tv is far too high, it's near the ceiling.......even the inspo is too high: )

Show your kitchen in a jpeg and WHERE the four of you dine, and it's connection to the "game room"

My next question is do you like the AI rendering you (or someone else) created and if so why not just copy it?

What specifically are you needing from us? Better options? Actual furniture links?

Also I think you have to consider the future of the formal living room now as it is really an extension of the family room.

Even if you are not purchasing now you should have a design for that space as well. The rooms go hand in hand.

The dining room appears to be somewhat more separate? Maybe they sit across and entryway from each other? Although it looks like the front door is to the right of the living room possibly.

See the guessing game I am playing? Too many variables to really do a cohesive design.

I think you need to draw it out for us , with measurements. as Jan requested . It need not be fancy but layout and measurements off walls, dorrways, openings and windows.

You told us the family room is 16' x 16' but when pressed you said it goes back to the middle of the arched window or something like that?

Can I create something based off of that? Yes. But is it 100% accurtate? Maybe not.
