Recommendations on planting 2 trees

I had a diseased red maple removed from my front yard. It provided shade for a flower garden in front of my picture window. I have a 6' smoke tree and 3" ginkgo; I would like to know the best location for both in my front yard.

Always good to find out where utility lines are. As for where to put trees that needs to be decided by how big they get and what you want from them For me those flower beds should be much larger and less grass but I dislike grass and all the chemicals used to keep it healty not to mention the huge waste of water.. Ginkos get huge so IMO out in the center of the grass maybe. The smoke tree not so huge bit still approx 15 x15 feet when mature You need to always plant trees where they can grow to maturity and not damage water, sewer or gas lines.

Check with your local county extension service for advice about regional trees that will be successful in your ZONE.

If you have water or sewer lines running up to the house, factor that in to plant trees far enough away from them. After 10 years in our new subdivision, I've already seen 4-5 homes have to remove their maple, birch, etc. because roots destroyed their underground plumbing lines and had to get repaired.

Looks like a great front yard, and will be more attractive after doing some landscaping.

The only line, is a gas line that runs on the right side of the house.

A mature ginkgo tree can be tall with a wide spread. A smoke tree should be smaller but still a decent height. Be sure to take mature size into consideration when planting the trees in proximity to the house.

Ginko trees are really beautiful trees, but if it's a female tree that produces fruit, make sure that it is a good distance from your home as the fruit is very messy and smelly (sewer smell).

I would plant the Ginko tree at the front of the lot line and the Smoke tree closer to the house but off to the left of it, so it doesn't block the view of the home. Pay attention to the mature size of each tree and measure to make sure it won't grow too big for where you plant it.

Plant some groupings of shrubs and plants underneather to "ground" the trees into the landscape.

I wuld plant the smoke tree, it doen't grow as big as a Ginkgo, at teh front of the lot in a big flowering bed, and the Ginkgo on the more in front (still good distance) of the house in between the two smaller windows. The Ginkgo combines the other big trees and your house has coverage from all sides, the smoke tree leads up tot the house in height.
