Tile Edge Detail

Here is the shower tile edge detail in room 473 of the Tremont Hotel in Galveston, Texas and I really like it. It may be Schluter, I don't know.


You can argue the contrast, but a color matching the grout may be less stark and more to your taste. White would work too.


This is so much faster and less expensive than mitering the tile and is much more functional. This edge may survive a whack, mitered not so much.

    Schluter is not suited to all installs.

    In heritage remodels we seldom use anything but its underlay products. I would not even attempt a shower these days without Schluter, having no fond memories of the old ways of building a shower bed.

    We use Schluter where it works and not where it does not work, and I expect most remodlers do the same.
