I need to replace my 25 year old stamped asphalt driveway and walkway. im doing plain blacktop driveway trimmed in pavers and a whole new paver walkway. I cant seem to find anything that matches well, not too busy. Any ideas? No stamped concrete.

    Love the rainbow!

Is the 3rd photo newer or older than the first two? The plant material along the house is much different in size between photos 1/2 and photo 3.

Are you happy with the width and shape of the walkway? Are you happy with the depth of the planting bed between the house and walkway? Now is the time to make changes before installing a new walkway.

As far as walkway materials, have you considered larger stone like bluestone or another stone that complements the stone color on the house?

Have you considered curb appeal? This walkway from the driveway can't really be seen from the street.

I'd think about a new front path leading the eye to the door as a good first impression. The bluestone or flagstone is a great idea.

It's not as if you need a new front walk, but if you're spending money it's worth a consideration.

If you build something like this, probably just add a new asphalt coat to the driveway walk.

Your walkway looks fine. There's no need to match your house, most walkways don't. Both brick and bluestone are classic, if you want to upgrade the look. Your landscaping is attractive, which is what I see, looking at the house and what I'd be looking at walking on the path. I mean, really, most people aren't going to be looking down.

I would spend my money on something else. Surely, there's something else inside or outside of your house that needs fixing more. I have a long list of stuff that could be done in mine.

You could add a walkway that comes out a bit more from the house.

If you really want to change it, I would pick pavers the color of the stone on your house. That appears to be a creamy beige color

OT: Indigo Rose, I did not know some places do not get hand delivery of mail. Everywhere I have lived (and still live), mail is delivered by a postal worker. I hope we never lose that.

Lisa, if you like gardening, I agree that laying the path further away form the house to allow for a wider garden would be lovely.

I think an irregular flagstone walkway would look very nice with your house. Try to get stones in the same colorway as the stones on your house.

There is no mail right up to the door in my area either. Mail is delivered to a mail box at the road, so only thing needed is a walkway to the driveway. Since I have a back circle drive, I have a walkway from the front, going to both sides of the house. I am probably the only one that ever walks on it, since in the 17 yrs, I have lived in this house, there has only been one person, that has come to the front door, and that was a politician, leaving his card and a pen. There is also no parking in front of the house, so anyone that comes here, would be using the driveway and would use my side entrance.
