But black feels so dark with the oak chairs.

I'd try to match at least the table top, a black painted base would be a nice compliment to calm down the room.

Black (or a softer smoky brown-black) stained table that shows the wood grain. Lots of choices including oak which has a great grain. Check Room and Board for oak and maple stained black. Four Hands offers a smoky brown black finish on some of its pieces. Check it against the flooring.

When you say “match the table top” - match to what? The chairs?

The Article table is pretty and delicate. see if they give you the dimensions of the legs to make sure there is enough room— looks a bit more splayed than the current table legs.

I really don't like the oak frame chairs. I think the contrast is needed to anchor the table in the space.

I like the chairs and think the flooring will help pull different tones together. Focus on the table’s design, shape and size vs the emphasis on wood. Mixing is done all the time, but you have to be comfortable with the look. How you decorate/accessorize is a good way to pull the entire space together.

I actually think walnut can work beautifully here — especially if the tone feels softer and more natural rather than very dark espresso brown.
