I hope you will consider a black/charcoal corrugated metal roof instead of a standing seam roof. It has a great tailored appearance.

Please don't do black siding, select a color a bit lighter like this charcoal you see below. I love this combination with the crushed stone used below.

IMO this Black siding is simply too dark and hides the details of the house.

I think a standing seam roof looks better than the corrugated. You want a color that goes with you stone, which is around the front door --- the part of the house you want to focus on. I'd think a warm green would look nice and I'd change the garage door to one more modern.

Black is not going to do with your stone and is pretty dreary, particularly since your garage is so big. You'd either have the white garage door stand out against the black or a huge black block, if the garage door was black, too. Most grays won't go with your stone, either, although it's hard to see it well. If you go with white, make sure it's a warm, creamy white, like SW Patience that goes with the stone, otherwise it will not look good. A black roof on a cream-colored house is not going to be the best combination, I'd stick with something like what you have.

If I were modernizing this house, I'd keep the roof as is, paint the house a creamy white or a warm green and replace the garage door with something more modern in wood.

Modern garage door.
