Do I need windows refitting or can I get oversills?

We got new windows fitted 6 years ago. getting our house rendered and have now realised that some sills are flush to the house - do the windows need removing and new sills in or can i add an oversill? ive had some companies say removal and some say oversill and would like to know which is best! thanks

Not sure there is anything "wrong" with the install. Would need to see a picture from the top.

It depends on how the existing sill is formed and attached, but presumably by your question appropriately under the window frame and corner trim. A "cover" over that might interfere with window weep holes, or meets the window frame and only relies on a bead of caulk.

The thickness of your render may play in the decision to, if the exposed aggregate finish is not stable enough, which requires metal lathe or an insulation board.
