As for me I would go with wooden slat wall. You can use the same in your ofice.

You might just consider lighting the space well and adding new decor.
The aqua flooring/rug throws the room off for me but that may be because I’m only seeing a small picture of it in the room. Is replacing it with a more neutral one an option?

I have similar, without the TV, painted mine in F& B’s Mole’s Breath, just gives it some presence without cluttering it up. I think it would make the TV less obtrusive also.

You can simply paint, or add wallpaper or install an artistic finish to the fireplace surround.

I’d also paint out the white baseboard, it seems off kilter with the dark cabs - maybe just a me thing

For me you already have enough stuff on there but maybe some puck lights to light up the things in the cabinets .

I probably should have turned on some lights before I took the pics. Those cabinets are actually dark brown. There are numerous lights in the room, including those in and under the cabinets. I agree that I've been given some great ideas. Thanks to everyone!

I would consider frosted glass film for the cabinets for a cleaner look or possibly a subtle pattern.

I really like the vertical wood rendering or the stone front. Adds so much more interest and coziness to the space

You have a lot of smooth plain surfaces. I think you need something with texture. My first thought was wallpaper, which was already mentioned. You would have to choose to carefully to avoid it being too distracting with the TV, but it's probably the least expensive solution and you have a huge variety of options to choose from. The wood slat wall looks nice too, although you already have a lot of wood in the room.
