I have this rug. Love it, looks even better in person.

Look for a glass top coffee table for a lighter feel.

Big rug to make sure all furniture has at least front legs on it, a floor lamp with integrated glass table between the two white chairs, and a tall living plant for starters. A floor plan with measurements and measurements on furniture would also be helpful.

Here's your rug palette: tan, ivory, blue in a pattern since your many upholstered pieces are all solids. Get as large a rug as you can. (Little shopping tip: order smallest size of rugs you like so you can see how they work, then order large version. )Choose a round glass top table so rug pattern will show through. The two below are from Wayfair, but there are similar ones at West Elm and other sources.

I think the room needs some color so I would choose something like this , then maybe yeloow pillows . I assume the chairs are recliners in which case a coffee table will need to be chosen carefully so people on the loveseats can have a place to put a drink , so a table and lamp between the chairs and maybe nesting tables for the loveseat s.Some art on the walls could aslo help.

Yes to a rug with pronounced colors rather than very pale.

Each one of these rugs creates a different ambiance for your room, and your table selection should carry that style through. So the tables you select for one rug will likely not work with a different selection.

There's a lot of furniture in this small room. Make sure whatever you selection is simple and MINIMAL.

I really like the rug that Lyn suggested:

I also like that you are able to wash it in your washing machine at home.

I may have to purchase this for a room in my house!

Or more elegant with chandelier, drapes and round coffee table

No dull any more, more warm light, contrast black throw pillows.

Thank you! This is the exact TV console I have. Should the rug go all the way to the console do not to be in walking path? Or stop at loveseat?

Should I care about matching or go with woods?

Matchy matchy is too hohum. Pick glass top for coffee table as well as side table. A set of nesting tables will be very useful. Celery,s visualizations are lovely but Id have to say no to black cushions. Space is too small to handle all the black cushions. Keep the rug muted blues and neutrals rather than bold. The space will give a more calming feel. Greenery and lamps and artwork on walls will all make a huge difference

Margop- can you comment on how far over rug should go. Should it go to right under the TV console or just to end of love seat.

i think it will look more ‘finished if rug goes to console or at least within 2 feet of it. I definitely would not have it extend under console. The pics BevFLADeziner submitted show a good size and spacing for area rug

    Second picture:

Was this picture taken at entrance to house? If so, it appears that you have a walkway in front of the console. Might want to stop the rug short and cut down on wear.

Like Celery's first visual. Is there room to spread the furniture a little farther apart (shown below)? Even a few inches would relieve the squished look.
