Much better arrangement! I know you are thinking of new furniture for the space, but here are some decor ideas until you do replace the furniture.
The table and chairs can be shifted toward the window more to create a wider walkway.

Oooh that’s looking good! i’d be tempted to get a chunkier lamp on facebook marketplace to replace the skinny silver one, keeping the width of your side table in mind - it would be nice if it complemented the floor lamp (esp the shade) -

I have had good luck with lamps on FB and sometimes will get a new shade if needed (At Home has very inexpensive lamps and lampshades imo)

@BeverlyFLADenizer to the rescue! That room looks great with your red couch. I wouldn’t rush to buy new furniture yet.

The window treatment needs to offer more privacy. An inside mounted tension rod with a soft fabric (or lace) that is wider than the window x 2 (or 3) has enough pleats to give you privacy. Not expensive and easy to find quickly.

The rugs Beverly showed also add a lot to the charm of the room. A glass table would be my choice since it looks less heavy than a wood one.
