Hummingbird Roses

At the discussion on Marie Pavie, Elfrosa mentioned Hummingbird Roses. I checked their website.

Their warranty policy seems to be a work in progress:

Do you guarantee your roses?

Yes. We offer a 60-day warranty from delivery at Hummingbird Roses. If the rose is cared for upon arrival as instructed, by potting up and growing on, before planting directly in the garden.

Adequate sunlight and watering need to be provided, as well as using good quality potting soil.

As we propagate and care for our roses, we do everything we can to ensure the rose is healthy and thriving, so it does well once it gets to you.

Should a rose fail during this time, please contact us at info@hummingbirdroses.net with the subject line labeled: Warranty. Include a photo of the potted rose, and your order details. Should we need to honor the warranty, a replacement will be sent, if we have another of the same one available, or a refund will be issued for the cost of the rose to the credit card you made the purchase with.

What’s not covered?

Loss from neglect, pests, extreme weather, rabbit and deer damage, or planting directly in the garden upon delivery, versus potting up and growing on as recommended.

Warranty Coverage

Every rose plant purchased from Hummingbird Roses is warranted for 90 days from the date of delivery (for shipped orders) or pick-up (for local orders). We promise each rose will:

  • Arrive healthy and true to the variety ordered
  • Be ready to plant and capable of thriving under normal growing conditions

To Qualify for Warranty Coverage

Your rose must be:
1. Planted within 14 days of receipt
2. Placed in the ground or a large container (minimum 1–2 gallon pot) that receives at least 6 hours of sunlight per day
3. Cared for properly using the planting and watering instructions provided
4. Documented — please send a photo of your planted rose within 14 days of receipt to info@hummingbirdroses.com with your name and order number in the subject line. The photo helps us confirm planting conditions and allows us to improve our growing and shipping process over time.

If a Problem Occurs

If your rose struggles within the 90-day period:

1. Email info@hummingbirdroses.com with the subject labeled “Warranty” including:
○ Order Receipt
○ The original planting photo (from within 14 days) ○ A current photo of the rose
○ Order number and a short note about planting conditions

2. We’ll review your case and, if the plant qualifies under warranty, we’ll offer:

○ A replacement of the same variety, or
○ A store credit equal to the purchase price Shipping costs for replacements are the customer’s responsibility

What the Warranty Does Not Cover

This warranty excludes loss or damage due to:

● Extreme weather (frost, drought, heat waves, hail, natural disasters)
● Pests, disease, neglect, or improper planting
● Transplanting, moving, or overwintering errors
