The ones I have in both black and navy are the Fayes. Have not tried but have heard good things about the Lara pant. Also, similar is AYR's Brava pant and Spanx has a version. Many options (even Quince) for this look. I just like the look and quality of AM's. Very tempted to try AYR & Spanx to see how they compare.

Here is the floral dress with the belts I found at Belk. I like the black one better but here are both. The gold belt is still pretty cool. Need to wear it this weekend so not much time to find something else.

The Gabrio rain cape is here. It arrived today and I am not sure I want to keep it. As a One Size garment it is on the large side for me. The fabric is thick 100% cotton but there is not clue either on the website or the cape itself whether or not it’s water repellent, but there does seem to be some sort of finish on it. The color is lovely and like everything Sezane it is beautifully made. There are lots of folds and it is a little heavy.

Another pro: where I live in Georgia it rains a LOT during the winter, and this heavy rain cape would be warm enough for our coldest days with a heavy sweater underneath. Con: it would be too heavy to wear until the end of November.

Most importantly, how does it look? I can’t decide! That’s an unusual sensation 😎

@Kswl. Were the sleeves 3/4 on the cape? I am a little perplexed by that. I can see how with the cape longer sleeves would be difficult to do. If truly worn in the rain, it seems impractical as your arms would get wet. What am I missing? Looks cute but not actually for the rain?

Good question RNmom, and yes the sleeves are 3/4 but they aren’t actually sleeves, they are the openings where the sides snap together. The width of the sides gives the illusion of sleeves. It’s a bit tricky to explain, but all capes are made in the same way.

I told DH what you said NJmomma and he thought that was a very funny image and then looked up again and said ”you’re not keeping it are you?” Lol.

NOW A SMALL DILEMMA: Sezane sent me a cute cotton bandana/scarf, about 20” x 20” as a thank you, presumably, for registering on the waiting list for this garment and then purchasing it. They include the return shipping label in the box so there’s nothing to do except tape it up and drop it off at UPS. Should I return the gift as well since I am not keeping the cape? It’s a very cute leopard print of two colors of brown on a cream background with a brown striped border all the way ’round. I love it and would wear it so much but is it right to keep? Would the warehouse receiving returns even have a mechanism to put it back into their free gift with coat purchase pile?

GScience, both outfits look great on you! I also prefer black belt/bare legs... but I dont think I'd wear a straw belt with the jumpsuit print. Does it need a belt?

some of my items arrived today. I do like the fringe sweatshirt quite a bit .. the fringe could start an inch lower but I think it will work itself out. It looks cuter than I thought! The reese pants are a smidge smaller than my other pairs-- but reviewers said the same thing. They'd order a few (in same color/size) to get a pair that fit just right. I will likely keep them but decide for sure in the next few days. Still waiting on the Jenni Kayne sweater which should arrive tomorrow.

Fringe is one of those things that can make or break an article of clothing, depending on where it is, how long it is, etc. I love a good fringed edge on a lady jacket but not on pants, lol— makes no sense but there it is. Would love to see the sweatshirt! And the sweater when it arrives, that JK is lovely.

I’ll have to look in the box to see if there was any invoice or packing slip included. I’ve gotten gifts from sezane before —small bottles of perfume and once a little candle— but the question did not arise as I didn’t return anything.

I think capes are veyr hard to pull off and rarely flatter. This one I didn't even like on the model so good riddance.

One designer that popped up from Chat was Bryn Walker, and I remembered seeing their clothes in boutiquey shops years ago, and then when I was in FL early this year I saw that Dillards had a whole BW department. I didn’t buy anything then, but yesterday I looked online, and a bunch of BW stuff was on sale. I ordered these…

It wasn’t until later that I remembered that everything I looked at in the store seemed to run really large, so now I’m thinking it may all need to be returned. We’ll see.

Since I sent back the wicker purse, I have been looking again for one. Logically, this resulted in me buying this cashmere sweater. I love the look but am worried that half the reviewers commented on how soft it was, and half commented on how soft it wasn't.

Yeah I had good luck with Sundance in the past. I have a few tops from them I really like. Then their earrings too, but apparently they never paid the artisans. Boo on them.

So I am good for bare legs, black belt with dress, and no, the jumpsuit doesn’t need the belt. I’d probably wear it without. I’ll probably start packing later today. I think it’s supposed to rain. would like to get my hair done at Drybar. I don’t think I can get there in time to make the airport here at our location. There is one fairly close to our hotel. I am going to email Sezane customer service and ask. The item is not on their website for sale so I assume it is retired and will not appear in their encore program. They have a new, darker leopard print that has apparently replaced it. Whatever they suggest I am happy to do.

I love that vibrant blue with the navy blue Mtn! Is that part of the navy sweater or is it a layer underneath? It’s a great combination but two sweaters… very heavy?

I am very used to turtlenecks and actually have a wide white cotton headband that I made smaller to wear under scratchy necks so fingers crossed!

Lollol, that is something to have in more than one color, right?. Especially here in the south, where a medium weight cashmere sweater is more than warm enough without an underlayer.

I was going to use an exclamation point after that last sentence but just read a Times article by curmudgeon John Mcwhorter complaining about it. However in my defense I was using exclamation marks with abandon many years before all this language hyperbole. (Feel free to mentally insert an exclamation mark after that last sentence 🙄)

@mtnrdredux_gw, was the scratchiness by any chance delineated by color? I have 2 pair of 100% linen pants - same brand bought at the same time. The black linen pants are fine; the natural are so rough and scratchy that I almost cannot wear them.

I have also noticed that sometimes different colors have different fabric content. One will be 100% whatever fabric and the other will be 95% something and 5% something else.

About to run out the door for a lunch date with a friend who has just returned from Europe with msny stories to tell! After that I am taking Mother to the movies and then picking up Andrew for an overnight. He is going to church with us tomorrow to have his backpack blessed by our priest at the morning service. That’s an annual bit our church does the Sunday before school starts. He’s nervous svout kindergarten and we thought this might help.

Well I tried on so many shoes! so many to return! but the silver Naturalizer worked great and are surprisingly comfortable.

Well, I am sending the gift scarf back to Sezane. When I initiated the return the instructions said that if you are sending the entire order back (which I am as it was just the coat) they kindly ask for return of the gift as well. Glad they clarified that it was not a free gift although I think most people (me) would rather have saved $40 on the garment cost 😎

My popsicle sweater arrived and it is so cute! Here I am modeling it. It’s a little breezy here today.

I was wearing a plain tee when it arrived so I just popped it on over the tee but that looked dumb. But the tee was green and loose, not the best ”test”…will try with a more form fitting tee but I have a feeling it will probably work best alone. I’ll have to experiment.

DH saw it as I was opening the pkg and said, ”Wow, cute! but…what is happening there? Is it like, a sweater without sleeves??”

Thank you HIWE….I have an almost brand new one from Anthropologie (that I love) in a khaki cotton with plaid lining and four others, including a cropped trench, so I do not actually **need** another rain coat. I just really really liked the rain cape or rather the idea of it. :(

Wrapping up the day of gardening, UPS returns, a trip to Hobby Lobby for my mother (don’t ask), laundry and a chat with our left side neighbor about our shared landscape project to hide the viciously ugly utility boxes (ATT, Comcast, CGEMC and one other) that live on the property line between us. Very casual and cool maxi skirt of loosely woven printed cotton in green roses on a cream background with a cream colored tee (one of those silky supima cotton ones from Garnet Hill).

Early exit this morning for church and brunch. This outfit from WHBM is practically perfect for the air con in our sanctuary—when it’s working the temp is frigid. I usually wear this with nude low heeled buckle shoes (Talbots) but those are smudged with something and need cleaning so I tried the gray ones from a different brand (Ann Mashburn) although almost identical. I was surprised how much the shoes pick up the gray blue in the skirt and they’ll be my choice going forward. No hair or makeup yet! 😳
