Following for comments. I’m intrigued by the recipe.

@porkandham, we really like the TJ chicken and or pork dumplings, which we either have in soup or pan fried. This seems like a new way to use them.

We liked it, but I haven’t made it again. I think I used chicken dumplings from Costco (I don’t eat pork.) and spinach. I should try it again while YDS is home from school. He loves dumplings.

I will probably use baby bok choy, which the local farmers marke has. Thanks!

It does sound interesting but I would look for a similar recipe on one of my membership or otherwise trusted sites (NYT, ATK, Inspired Taste, etc.)

That’s actually the woman ”chef” I cannot stand, ugh!

I have not tried this specific recipe, but I have found a number of excellent recipes on the Allrecipes site over the years. Unfortunately, they changed how the Search functioned a few years ago, limiting the number of return recipes. As I do not like the "new" Search I am less likely to use the site.

I do not search Allrecipes itself. I search for a recipe then click on Alltecipes.

Have not made yet: Once Upon A Chef - Lazy Skillet Dumplings

Love Once Upon a Chef, but that is a slightly different version where you make your own dumplings w wonton wrappers, which is a riff on a version where you fry a ground pork mixture upside down with wontons skins on top.

My version uses premade dumlpings, chiefly because the Tj ones are so good IMHO

I wondered if Once Upon a Chef had a similar recipe but I assumed the dumplings would be made from scratch. It is such a reliable site!

I didnt make that recipe, but I did a similar one in a sauce that was more like peanut sauce. It was fine but I didnt save the recipe because I knew I wasnt going to make it again. I like frozen TJs dumplings and I’d rather just panfry them and serve them over a lot of sauteed vegetables. I didnt think the recipe saved me that much time. I was unimpressed.

I was also unimpressed with the NYT Cooking Hattie McKinnon Dumpling and smashed cucumber salad, but I‘d be more likely to make that a second time.

I have the ingredients so will make it tomorrow. I agree they are probably at their best panfried!

This was ok, but I would definitely not make it again. I also think the cooking time was incorrect.
