Love it! I wish there were houses like that available. But in our area of the country, any nice house in a nice area will be added on to and expanded. These just don't exist.

It is cute. A front entry is such a smart addition to a cape.

My MIL’s beach house was a cape and she tried every use for that space - living room (too small), dining (too public) and it finally ended up as a pass through where no one sat or stayed.

I love it! I so want a charming cottage like that. It’s similar to several inspiration photos I have saved.

I’m a big fan of window boxes and have had them at every house. Regulars on the decor boards freak out when OPs ask about them. :D

    Thanks for sharing!

Very cute. I'm a fan of cottages. We have a few left, but they aren't as adorable as that one.

Cute on the outside - the inside would make my head explode.

I didn’t realize there was a link, doh. Off to look. I wish Houzz would highlight links like they used to.

ETA: Still like it, but of course there would be things I‘d change to my taste.

I want to see inside the brick/stone house next door.

    So cute!

Does snyone know what that plant that’s growing up the side of the garage is? We have an ugly retaining wall at the lake that needs some camouflage.

I love it and apparently my tolerance for "more is more" is waxing when, in reality, it should be waning.

    That is adorable!!!!

I would be leary of the vines on the house. In Oklahoma, the humidity is so bad, vines on houses = mold eventually. #dontaskmehowIknow

    Jilly, here you go:

    The house next door

I think this brick house was originally on the corner, but the lot was subdivided sometime around 1960. I understand this neighborhood has been popular with the faculty at the nearby college, but I wonder if they’ve gotten priced out. The Yellow Cottage has been added on to in the back. Even with a detached garage it’s so expensive!

So very charming. Even the garageis cute. The decor would make me — the queen of neutrals — run screaming. Fortunately, IMO, it can all be changed. I love the outside and the floor plan.

My street used to be all tiny colonials built in the late 1940s. There is only one original house left. One has morphed from a tiny colonial on a double lot to an enormous Tudor that covers most of the lot. I do adore the people who live there, though. Another was completely demolished and replaced with a stucco mini mansion.

There are still some streets not too far that have cute small homes, thank goodness.

    Thanks for sharing that, bpath.

Thank you, bpath! I love it, too. Beautiful. :)

I knew the general vicinity of that house immediately! We looked in that area and almost bought a house on Northmoor!

DLM I know, I love that neighborhood, too. I would have moved to it in a flash; DH wanted more separation between houses. btw, did you see my ”refrigerator” post? It’s on Prospect in your old neck of the woods.

bpath I did see that thread - just looked up the house - DH remembered right away it's on a corner lot but it didn't ring a bell for me.

I used to live just a couple of blocks from it, it didn’t ring a bell for me, either, but it might be tucked behind trees and buckthorn lol. I might find an excuse to drive by sometime.

Adorable. @mtnrdredux_gw I thinking the last picture shows what might have been added to it but such a great job of keeping the authenticity of the home.

porkandham - it might be a climbing hydrangea, after blooming.

    @gail618 - Thank you! I think you're correct.

Nice homes with such character. Completely drawn to them just from the exterior alone.

Arapaho, the exterior is so charming! I once heard that if you want to sell your house quickly, paint it yellow. It might be true, I certainly find myself drawn to yellow houses! Have yet to live in one though.
