grout refresher?

I would like to refresh this grout so it is white in our 1/2 bath. Tile is old, but in great shape. The grout is dingy and looks dirty even though it isn’t. We don’t have budget to rip out and put something new in right now. Has anyone used a grout refresher that they can recommend?
In addition…looking to repaint the bathroom-any suggestions on a better wall color?

I went to a tile place and asked what was needed to refresh my white grout. the product was easy to use but not as white as I wanted. I went back and bought the grout white application. It is great, but tedious work. Perhaps you would like to take grout in another direction - maybe darker. Can’t make paint recommendation without seeing whole room

More pictures. Definitely open to other colors besides white. Tile is blue.

With blue tile, Mapei Cobblestone. It's a cool gray.

Is this a powder room or is there a tiled shower to take into consideration? Good advice so far regarding grout. I think you should up your art game and maybe consider removing the wainscot detail as it doesn’t seem to jive with the floor (and it limits you with art scale).

It is a powder room. I am not the best at decorating either and have a few pieces of my son’s artwork from when he was little in the bathroom🤣. I don’t love the chair rail or whatever it’s called. I didn’t put it I -was there when we bought house. I am thinking of painting it same color as wall or do something differnt in the top than the bottom so it feels more purposeful…but don’t know if 2 colors would be too much for the small space and the tiles…any thoughts?

Very interesting thread. How are you planning to clean the grout before you apply grout refresh? If you do refresh the grout, please post after photos as I would love to see your outcome. Good luck!

I used Grout Renew in my last home and my current home. You must clean the existing grout with an acid base cleaner before applying the colorant. The one room where I had difficulty with the product not peeling or coming off was the kitchen. I had to use a powered tool with a strong acid based cleaner to get the 50 year build up of grease that had impregnated the grout off. Took several tries before it didn't come up when I wet mopped the floor.

Once I got it to stick it was good. I lived in my last home about 3-4 years after re-coloring the grout and had no issues. It has been about 7 years since I did the grout in my current home and it has held up beautifully. My last home was all tile, this home only had grout between slate tiles.

It was a great way to make my floors beautiful again. It takes patients and time to do, but well worth the effort.

What colors do you have in the surrounding spaces in your home? Does a cool blue and gray feel connected to the other spaces or out of sync?

Is the creamy white trim the same as other areas of your home?

Hire a professional to do the work. For a small powder room, it could be $200.00. Well worth it. They have the equipment to do it. Have them apply a sealer.

Do the blue on the bottom and a wallpaper over top of rail.

This is a peel and stick from Target (or as I call it Tarjay).

The grout renew products don't need sealed. They have a sealant built into the product
