And what "is same size vanity? One sink as now or two?

You are keeping this mirror? Amid what else in the bath? Floor , vanity finish etc? It's a 5 x 8 bath with a tub? and linen closet?

The vanity is currently a 60 inch vanity with a one inch spacer from the wall on left side. The new vanity will be the same size.

We will have one sink.

It won't be too cramped if you select the best sized mirror.

You can also consider having the sconces mounted through the mirror and therefore getting two times the amount of light for the room.

Sconces win hands down, so make room for them, however. Down light from above cast harsh shadows (racoon eyes), while sconces provide beautiful, even illumination.

With a 60-inch vanity and a wall tight on the left, I would choose the mirror size and lighting type together rather than deciding sconces first.

Sconces can give excellent face lighting, but they need enough side space to avoid looking squeezed. If the left side is tight, a clean overhead vanity light may be the more balanced solution, especially if you use a mirror width that feels centered and intentional.

If you do want sconces, tape out the mirror and fixture locations on the wall before ordering. That will show quickly whether the left sconce feels cramped. For bathroom lighting, I would look for diffused light, 3000K to 3500K, CRI 90+ and damp-rated fixtures.

From a lighting/QC perspective, the best-looking solution is not always the best daily-use solution. The goal is even face lighting without making the vanity wall feel crowded.
