Our A/C unit can’t keep up, it just keeps climbing. I dread our next electric bill.

The humidity and dew point are what really get me, as well as how high the temps stay at night. I had a heat stroke a few years ago, so am very sensitive to it now.

I am with you on the heat, although we are cooler now with temps only in the mid- to upper 80s now. !! even worse, we are getting no rain. Who knew Alexandria was a desert? My water bill was over $500 for July and close to that in June. Ugh. Hope you get a break soon.

This is a bit unusual -- we are 2-3 degrees higher than it is showing for Houston (96 - just went up to 97 vs 94). Heat index is showing 107 in Houston, which means we might be 110? Temps are expected to climb higher during the coming week. Marching band practices for high schoolers started last week -- always seems to be the hottest weather when they are in practices. At least they are in shorts and not those heavy uniforms.

Good grief Cyn!!!! Fargo is with ya in the "Desert" category! There's been good rains to our N, NE, NW,W, & S.....but NOTHING for Fargo. Grrrr.

When our H20 bill comes, I may have to leave it in the mailbox!!!

I can't even imagine marching-band practice now!!! It's GREAT that cool clothing can be used for a while!

I see there's NFL Rookies reporting to many Training-camps today! I suppose the Cowboys are heading to CA soon again? Too da** hot in Dallas!

When my kids were in marching band, the would have gallon jugs of water and refill them. We filled them with ice, topped with water in the morning and they would have the coldest water in the afternoon and still have ice left for the refill. That was the primary reason for connecting an ice maker in our utility room fridge. Still comes in handy now and then.

They have a new thing this year - UIL established wet bulb globe temperature rules for practicing in the heat(try to say that 5 times fast) - duration, number of breaks and length of breaks, whether they can wear pad or long pants for football practice. It will be interesting to see how that impacts things. The black top parking lot will definitely factor in for band practice.

We were in Europe in June when they were having those kind of temps. It was awful! On DH bday though, we went up in the Alps and had snow and 32 degrees. It felt great!
