IMO that wall is full enough. Post a picture of the slier wall, please.

It’s personal but i would not add another piece there - seems like an afterthought next to the big cabinet (less is more in this case imo)

A plant in that corner would look good. Either a tall plant or a 'creeping' plant on a stand.

Please provide photos of all four walls. You've only shown two. Designers take in a entire open space, not just two walls of it.

Nothing in that corner since you have such a large piece right there. Less is more. Do consider adding wallpaper backing to the cabinet to lighten it up since it's so very dark.

Once we see all four sides of this space, then you'll get good suggestions of where to put any hangings.

Your wall color reads a bit cold and harsh with table and chairs, the rug seems quite gray, making table and chairs feel a bit "yellow".

The light seems a tad too traditional compared with table /chairs.

What are you going for? Post an inspo, show surrounding areas in jpegs.

IMO make the buffet/ hutch a liquor cabinet with glassware displayed , do acoffee bar in the kitchen and center that large cabinet on that wall and get a much nice chandelier .

@housegal200 There are no other walls. From the second photo, there is only the staircase on the right, and from where the photo was taken, it is already the kitchen. That photo was taken late at night with poor lighting.

@JAN MOYER No, I moved in 4 years ago but I actually had the walls painted off-white. It was previously a very depressing drab gray from the previous owners and it always felt like 2AM at noon. LOL. That rug was from my previous house, and that ugly chandelier is from the previous owners. I'm having home improvements slowly done and the 'electricals' will be for a later date.

@Patricia Colwell Consulting If I center the cabinet on the wall, it would end up being off-center from the table. If I have the table 'follow' the cabinet, the edge would be too close to the patio door. The position of both the cabinet and the table is centered on the chain of the chandelier. I am open to suggestions though. Just stating why they are currently positioned that way.

Could the mugs go either in or on top of the existing cabinet?

Design people need to see the entire space. We get that dining area doesn't have four walls but it's within open space that is visible from the dining area and vice versa. What does the other side of the room look like? The rest of the hallways?

Have you tried turning the table to see if that works . I honestly do not think a bar cart is the answer.A plant would be the best for that space .

Something is off. Is the table a rectangle? If so, it needs to be turned. If it is square, the rug is the wrong size, or the table is too large for the space. Plant looks tres faux, so, adieu! Add floating shelves for the mugs. Lighted and comes in black:

Right now all furniture and weight is on one wall and feels bulky just removing the baskets and angling or fully placing the cart to the window wall helps distribute the weight.

I think your idea of adding a small cabinet or coffee/bar station here could work really well.

Since you only have 41.5" to work with, I’d actually consider a custom piece rather than trying to find something with the exact dimensions online.

I’d keep it under 40", slightly taller than the existing marble-topped cabinet, and repeat either the black finish or marble detail so the two pieces feel connected without looking like a matching set.

For the artisan mugs, a shallow wall-mounted display cabinet with glass doors could be beautiful and would keep the surface below from becoming too crowded.

We do quite a bit of custom furniture at Avenue Design, and this is exactly the type of situation where customizing the dimensions and finish can make more sense than trying to force a standard-size piece into the space.
