We don't know what you rejected, what you currently have but I would just quick sew up a curtain panal, assuming I could find a fabric store--which is tough these days. Is this the only window on this plain? What it looks like from the outside of the home may be more important than the inside given the rooms' use.

Since you only need a couple panels , check those odd lot stores like OLLIE's You might find the right size and a pop of color in your neutral color scheme.

Some photos of elements in the room to give a sense of the vibe. Note the colors are more yellow in the photos than in real life. I am rejecting old white vinyl blinds. They are still functional but older and I’d like to replace them with something more interesting and fun.

Cabinets are Thomasville Heather Gray on maple (warm greige on the bluer side). W/D are dark gray - almost a pewter. Flooring is NuCore luxury vinyl plank in Honeycomb (blond with subtle gray tones). Walls are Behr Castle Beige. Trim is Pittsburgh Atrium White. All soft, subtle, and warm with gray, rosy, or lilac undertones. It all works; just have to find the right style and shade of window treatment without breaking the bank.

Nice room! what about a grey toned or black rattan shade to add some texture?

It would help if you showed photos of the windows you want to cover.

Cellular shades are fairly inexpensive, as are plain roller blinds. But without seeing the windows, it's difficult to advise you.

now I am wondering about just simple bamboo shades? they are so neutral and flexible and would jibe with the warm flooring -

Why not a top down bottim up shade from amazon less than $300 and even some colors to choose from

They arrive Monday. Fingers crossed and I’ll post pics if they work out for us. It was not possible to see them in person before buying but we can return if they don’t work.

I did look at top down bottom up shades but our windows don’t allow for an inside mount, unfortunately.

We painted base and window trim over the weekend. Details are coming together! Next is building a custom door for a storage space, a folding table, and a hanging rack, and installing cabinet trim.

Blinds came yesterday (early!) and they look great! Hoping to install etomorrow!
