Sunflower Farm pics

For sunflower fans! We visited a farm with a ”sunflower stroll” yesterday. Kind of like a corn maze but with flowers. Sunflowers are so photogenic against a clear blue sky!

Taken from an elevated deck.

    great photos!

    Those flowers are rather anthropomorphic.

A nearby peach orchard / PYO farm has sunflowers and I stopped by hoping to get some as a b&b gift but they weren’t ’ready’ yet. Their flower beds were not as scenic as yours. I made my hostess happy with an orange vase that had been lurking in my cupboard, blackberry lilies, and russian sage. (she is Dutch, so orange always is a win).

Beautiful photos, thank you for sharing!

I’m a sunflower fan. My profile pic is an arrangement DH made me.

So beautiful! I wonder if sunflowers are even capable of taking a bad photo? Like kittens!

Great pictures! We have a sunflower festival coming up nearby, hopefully I will get there to see them

My granddon ”helped” me with my garden this year. He dropped the sunflowers in the soil—-more than one, I suspect. He is 4.5 years old and clearly counting and spatial awareness are developing skills. We both can’t wait for a flower or two!

    Post pictures when they bloom!

I have tried planting them, but they never work. I suspect critters are standing by waiting to dig up the seeds as soon as I walk away. I need a fenced in garden like you have, Jo!

    Lovely photos!

Our town, which has a sister town in Ukraine, plants fields of sunflowers every year in solidarity which anyone can go pick as they wish. Donations, of course, are welcomed. It's quite a sight and so generous of the farmer who plants them.

Sue, what pretty pictures. I agree that sunflowers against a blue sky are a lovely sight.

One year my neighbor planted some along our fence line. Itook a picture of the back of its head.

Ded, I was saying to DH that they’re even pretty from behind, which isn’t true of all flowers. And I even like them like this.

    Beautiful photos, Sue!

Jojoco, great core memory for your GS. I hope you both enjoy the blooms.

A neighbor a few doors down is a wild gardener and has sunflowers every year. I'm in an urban area, and so it's always fun to see what she grows. They're certainly popular at our farmers markets,

I came back to look at these photos because they are so lovely. I have come back a few times.

I love all the single flower shots.

So I am looking and I am like, I like #3, no... wait.. #5... then... I am like... they are like people. Like portraits of people.

Then I see this from @lisaam: Those flowers are rather anthropomorphic.

    exactly!

Sunflowers are SO happy! Where is this field?

Love the photos. I used to purchas sunflowers at the grocery store. I guess I bought too often, and while they always catch my eye, I haven't purchased in a while. Added some vine fron the yard. I am partial to the ons with dark centers.

At our last house, a bird dropped a seed I watched grow and bloom.

Maybe it's time I purchased again.

Sunflowers are just what I needed today!

Allison, agreed, the dark centered flowers are best.

Reminds me that as a young child I was afraid of the centers of black eyed susans. Good thing we grow up and normalize.🌻🌝

You really take the best flower pictures, @Sueb20. These are stunning.

There's a sunflower farm somewhere not too far from me. Somehow I always miss it. I have to pay more attention.

They’re still hanging (literally) in there… this is just a phone pic.
