Add actual nearest big City, not just zone. The same zone is very different in different locales say east or west. Potted or in ground helpful too.

Is it fragrant or not and if so How would they categorize it? Following along with sheila's suggestions If potted, I might also inquire what sort of pot And how close it is to any reflective surfaces or other hard surfaces.

I think your questions about water are really important - I'm working on a terribly dehydrated rose garden and it's incredible how all the foliage was tiny and shrunken, almost looked the same on all plants. If a rose is in a state of neglect, it's very difficult to ID.

I would include pictures of the entire bush, as well as open blooms, buds showing color, and last year's hips, if any. Also do they know if it only blooms in the Spring (not definitive that it is a once bloomer, of course, as I have found that neglected roses, or rosse growing in not enough light, may only bloom once in the Spring even if they are really repeat bloomers - I have had some nice surprises re that situation) or repeat blooms?
