option two with the mirror centered on the door. a corner sink will give you a bit more entry room and the mirror on the wall centered on the door so it reflects natural light coming in... so it looks acceptable when the door is open.

Hey Lyn, just checking if you meant the full option 2, or are you saying you could either do option 1 or option 2 with the mirror centered to the door?

Sorry, should have clarified. I vote for the corner sink with the mirror on the wall, centered on the door opening... that would make the mirror placement half over the sink and flat against the wall. You didn't mention the size of the room. You need plenty of room to stand in front of the toilet. I have a similar tiny powder room, but my sink is at the end where your toilet is.

You don't give us a scale, but if your drawing is proportional, then the corner sink is the only option.

Or you need to look for a sink like this ...

Hey just to add that we're not 100% on the length of the bathroom as the extra wall to extend it hasn't yet been built, but should be around 170cm long and 96cm wide roughly.

#3...it would be important to me not to see the toilet when door opens (into the hall, not into the bathroom).

I vote for option 3. In a previous house we had a powder room with that layout except we had a pocket door. We had a small stained glass window in line with the door which created a nice focal point. There was a sunny room behind the powder room that lit up the stained glass window.

Since this powder room is under the stairs, is there a slanted ceiling in this room that would impede the user?

It shall DEPEND the sink.........

It can go directly opposite the toilet, you will see a bit of it when you open the door ( so what??)
