Any thought to changing the wall color? There is just not a lot of contrast between floors, cabinetry and current wall color so that may be why finding a rug is difficult. Painting may not be in your plan right now though.

I’d go lighter on the rug color if you don’t want to paint and add some accessories

I agree with Beverly about the position of the chairs. I do like the rug. Live with it a few days before you return it.

If you want to “try” some rugs, there are websites with a visualization tool. Rugsdirect and Rugsusa. I think Wayfair might have that tool as well.

The table should be centered under the light fixture. The fixture should be 30" above the table top.

Sometimes patterned marketplace rugs can end up looking a lot busier in a real room than they did in the listing photos. A simpler or more solid texture might let the rest of the dining area breathe a bit more.
