Hi Houzz,

My wife and I are ~ 70% through our full remodel. We converted our cape into a dutch colonial style. We are struggling to decide on backsplash options for our kitchen and pantry. Below is an AI rendering. The cabinets in the kitchen are Fabuwood Macademia and the cabinets in the pantry are (also Fabuwood) Pistachio. The pantry is a walk-in through an arch at the top left of this room/photo. We are leaning towards Rainburst Concrete Quartz for the countertops.

Questions:

• if we take the quartz 6 inches up on the walls (leaving 12 inches of wall below the bottom cabinet line) does this look too neutral and "blah"?
• would a zelige style title (like the one above the stove) applied throughout above the countertops look better?
• since the cabinets in the pantry are Pistachio, would using the same zelige style tile but "reversing" the colors with the kitchen (so the backsplash in the pantry is creamier white) make sense?
