I have a few suggestions...

First decide what style you want the room to reflect. There are millions of choices to make for the style you want let alone an open canvas. I don't want to throw a bunch of random images at you.

Consider keeping that mirror and re-framing it. This is easily done with wood trim, paint and a glue gun. A miter saw would be a plus. It will save a bunch of money you can put into other facets of the reno.

Hello everyone, this is an year old post. Look what I did with the place. New wallpaper, new mirror and lighting. I hope you will approve :)

Fantastic Job.....Come wallpaper my house! You did a perfect job with a difficult pattern! And very well done on the lighting too. Only thing I would add is crown molding and a white roller blind with an eyelet trim.

Well currently they are only available in the UK with the grommets. However you can DiY with a roller shade, then add fabric in a solid or color to the bottom edge and apply the grommets. Check this post. http://www.justthebeesknees.com/2013/06/diy-roman-blinds-with-grommet-detail.html

Roller shades are available in most home improvement stores such as Home Depot, Sears and Lowes. They are normally under $ 25.00 for a window that size.

Keep the counter top if is in good shape!
