Project: Mediterranean Serenity Penthouse in Marbella

Before: Despite the breathtaking views of the Andalusian coast, the original layout presented a major architectural challenge: immovable, load-bearing columns positioned directly in the center of the open-plan living room and the master bedroom. These structural pillars fragmented the space and threatened to disrupt the seamless flow of the design.

After: Rather than simply hiding the pillars with drywall and shrinking the room, the Tania Tsygel - Marbella Interior Design studio transformed these obstacles into the project's most spectacular features. In the living area, the intrusive column was redesigned as a stunning "floating" travertine fireplace. Supported by a custom steel framework and flanked by floor-to-ceiling mirror panels, the heavy structural core visually vanishes, creating the illusion of levitating stone.

In the master bedroom, the second column was flawlessly integrated into elegant, bespoke wooden joinery.

The walls are enveloped in an artisan matte plaster to gracefully soften the intense Spanish sun, perfectly complementing the light woods and elegant marble. The final result is a turnkey coastal sanctuary where sea views flow uninterrupted toward the expansive terrace, fundamentally redefining modern Mediterranean luxury.
