Great shortlist, and requiring baffle filters plus a true 24-inch depth really narrows the field, so you have clearly done your homework. Since you already owned a Zephyr for seven years and liked it, that reliability history counts for a lot. One tip: compare the sone ratings at similar CFM settings for both models, since noise at high speed is the thing people notice most after installation. Also double-check the duct size each unit requires so your existing ductwork does not need rework. Good luck with the decision, you will appreciate those baffles over mesh either way!

We are running new ducting and I plan to do 8" regardless. CFM rankings are nearly the same for both. Previously there was a recirculating over the range microwave, which was absolutely worthless. I think either will be such a massive improvement I won't care a whole lot.

An interesting feature of this Best WCP1306SS is that it "Uses infrared sensors to monitor the heat coming from your range and then automatically adjusts your hood's fan speed to eliminate heat, CO2, and other cooking effluents." It is a bit shallower at 22".

I'm throwing the Best WCP1306SS into the mix. I ordered the XO, but it arrived with almost no packing. It was just loose in the box with a few pieces of cardboard. The stainless wrap was pulled back, it was dusty, had fingerprints and was missing the template and mounting hardware. Contacted support as it had obviously been returned and it would be 6 weeks to get another.

The Best is only 22" deep, but everything else looks good. From what I gather, they are also super easy to install. I doubt anyone knows much about them, but figured I'd post and see.

Best isn't an unknown brand. It's most unique product is its Cattura downdraft hood that can be installed in a variety of ways including behind a range rather than only behind a cooktop.
